Homeowners love the feeling of SPC Luxury Vinyl flooring underfoot and find that it is not only comfortable to stand and walk on but is also an attractive flooring type. Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring uses printed vinyl designs on the surface to create the look of the flooring and adds embossing for texture and comfort. Cordalera can be laid above radiant heating or underfloor heating to add even more warmth to your flooring.

Wait What is SPC Luxury Vinyl Flooring?

The difference between our flooring and traditional vinyl flooring sold at Home Depot, Lowe’s, or other big box stores is the Cordalera core is much stronger. Cordalera has invested in a product that has more dense materials that do not react to sun or cold as the traditional luxury vinyl flooring does. What we have done is upgraded the LVP of yesteryear to a new and improved version called SPC vinyl flooring. Our stone content of 74% really makes our flooring much better and stronger to any element changes and normal day-to-day life. We highly suggest you find out what the luxury vinyl flooring samples you have are made out of – it could be disastrous if you don’t. Typical stone content of 50-60% is just not enough to withstand heat and cold changes.

Luxury Vinyl Plank Is Budget Friendly

Many people consider SPC / LVP flooring because of the budget-friendly cost but we find that it outperforms ceramic tile and wood flooring as well. SPC installs easily, has superior water resistance and is great for noise reduction. SPC / LVP is a budget-friendly option but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice quality. SPC won’t crack like tile or splinter like wood, it lasts the test of time and still looks great.

LVP Locking System

Cordalera is a top-tier LVP flooring, designed with a quality locking system called Valinge 2G. The Valinge 2G locking system is an easy-to-use system that contractors rate as the number 1 system of preference. The Cordalera planks have a rigid composite stone core that is still flexible enough for easy installation but strong enough to resist damage. The locking mechanism is designed to provide a tight installation that will not shift over time. The underlayment padding is attached to the underside of the flooring eliminating the need to lay out the underlayment when installing. This product installs effortlessly.

Waterproof Flooring Products

When choosing to floor for a high-foot traffic area like a restaurant, store or public building Luxury Vinyl Plank should be at the top of your list. The Cordalera Enduro Max (20 mil) SPC / LVP line is the strongest flooring in the Cordalera lineup. The Enduro flooring collection is 100% waterproof and has one of the thickest SPC cores on the market. The 74% composite stone core is unmatched in quality. The Cordalera lineup features wood look planks in a variety of beautiful color variations. Cordalera also offers the Enduro (12 mil) line which offers great durability but with a slightly thinner wear layer. The Enduro does come in at a lower price point than the Enduro Max line making it a great option for many customers. The Enduro and Enduro Max lines offer unique color collections with something for everyone.

Cordalera Luxury Vinyl Plank Warranty

Cordalera is a great flooring option and our customers are amazed by the warranty backing this product. Cordalera offers a 10 year commercial warranty and a lifetime residential warranty. The lifetime warranty is further evidence of the quality and craftsmanship of this flooring.

Take Note: SPC = LVP but LVP ≠ SPC

Terms in the flooring world are just thrown around it can be really hard to know what you are buying. A lot of companies create different terms so they can appear top quality when in fact they are using inferior materials. SPC (Stone Plastic Core) is a luxury vinyl plank, however, not all luxury vinyl planks are SPC. If you see a floor being sold as luxury vinyl plank, we would suggest looking more into the core. You will notice most of the time these cores are mostly plastic and are susceptible to heat, sun, and uv rays. Inferior products create problems after installation you will never want to deal with. These problems are why Cordalera only uses the REAL SPC core and why we almost NEVER have claims or issues. The Cordalera SPC Luxury Vinyl Plank team believes being “overbuilt” vs “underbuilt” over the long run saves everyone money in the long run!

Luxury Vinyl Flooring FAQ’s

You mention stone content – what is that?2022-08-28T00:01:58+00:00

When people go to buy products, while most the time it is about color and if you can get it fast… the real question you should be asking is what the product is made of and if it is good. So, the #1 thing to ask yourself about luxury vinyl flooring options is what is the virgin plastic (pvc) % and what is the stone %. Anything below a 65-70% stone amount is inferior and will cause you major headaches. Low stone % makes the lvp flooring not stable and can have major issues in direct sunlight (through a window) and when it gets colder out. The higher PVC content floor will move worse than a 12″ plank of wood in water. We urge you to compare the stone content – Cordalera guarantees our floors don’t move in heat or cold.

The mm (millimeter) is the thickness of the spc luxury vinyl planks themselves. This has nothing to do with the wear layer. The thicker the board the more rugged and dudrable it will be.

What is the difference between the mil ratings?2022-08-11T19:27:24+00:00

The higher the mil rating the more wear layer or top finish coat that is on the luxury vinyl plank. So a 12mil wear layer has less finish on it than a 20mil wear layer. The accepted industry standard is 12mil is for houses and light commercial and 20 mil is for residential, light/heavy commercial.
